Description

Agents of WATCH (Agents of Atlas + Watchmen):
In an alternate universe in the New Amalgam Multiverse (universe "5-Maglama"), the World Association of Terrorism and Crime Hindrance (WATCH) was formed in 1957 in response to rising communist threats coming from China and the Soviet Union in Russia. When the menacing communist sorcerer Moklaw (Yellow Claw + Moloch the Mystic) kidnapped President Dwight D. Eisenhower, WATCH assembles an elite strike force of costumed heroes called the Agents, led by Chinese supergenius Sun Tsu. The Agents stayed together until the Nixon Administration, when Congress passed an act that criminalized superheroes and vigilantes. With the United States and the Soviets on the brink of a nuclear war, Sun Tsu and Dr. Marvel worked together on a plan to peacefully end the tension. When the former Agent Monkey Business was killed in his own apartment, Anaglyph reunited with Nite-Droid, Spectre of the Jungle, and Dr. Marvel to uncover a conspiracy to assassinate former heroes. It turns out that Sun Tsu himself was behind the assassination of Monkey Business and the attempts on the others; he wanted them distracted long enough to detonate quantum explosives (which harness Dr. Marvel’s quantum energies) in major cities across the planet. Sun Tsu’s ultimate plan for world peace was to unite the planet against Dr. Marvel. Dr. Marvel, thinking that exposing the conspiracy would lead to war again, agreed to Sun Tsu’s idea, as did Spectre and Nite-Droid. Anaglyph refused to keep quiet, so Dr. Marvel was forced to kill him.

Sun Tsu:
Amalgamation of: Jimmy Woo + Ozymandias
Real Name: Adrian Woo
Biography: Adrian Woo and his parents immigrated to America from China during the Japanese invasion. Adrian, as an adult, joined the FBI, and helped form WATCH with his advanced intelligence. Taking the name Sun Tsu, after Ancient China’s most brilliant military strategist, Adrian led the Agents against Moklaw and his minions. When the government outlawed superheroes, the Agents disbanded and Adrian became the director of WATCH. When nuclear war seemed inevitable, Adrian and Dr. Marvel worked together on a plan to end the tension with no shots fired; unbeknownst to Marvel, Adrian harnessed his quantum energies to create a series of nukes, which he detonated in each major city on Earth. Believing that Dr. Marvel was responsible, every nation on Earth united against him, preventing World War III and establishing world peace, which was Adrian’s plan all along.
Powers: Super intelligence/speed/reflexes/agility/stamina. Martial arts skills. Access to exotic technology.

Dr. Marvel:
Amalgamation of: Marvel Boy/The Uranian + Dr. Manhattan
Real Name: Dr. Jon Grayson
Biography: Dr. Jon Grayson (anglicized from the German name Grabshield) was a brilliant scientist who was caught in the blast of a malfunctioning nuclear reactor called an ‘Intrinsic Field Subtractor.’ The radiation ripped his body apart molecule-by-molecule, but his soul was sent careening through the cosmos. The New Eternals of New Uranus (Eternals/Uranus + New Gods/New Genesis), who will never make contact with Earth in this universe, collected the stray molecules of his body, and recreated him with the hyper-technology of a set of Quantum Gauntlets. Grayson was reborn on Earth as god-like being with vast powers, and he was soon contracted into the US military as “Dr. Marvel.” When the Agents were formed, Sun Tsu made Dr. Marvel his second-in-command, and he was critical in countering Moklaw’s magic. Jon started dating Jane Juspeczyk, who was his teammate Spectre of the Jungle, and working with Adrian “Sun Tsu” Woo on a covert plan to prevent WWIII. Dr. Marvel precognitive powers were disrupted by tachyon-emitting satellites orbiting Earth that were controlled by Adrian, so Marvel had no idea that Adrian planned on uniting Earth against him. When the bombs harnessing Dr. Marvel’s energy did fall, Marvel accepted Adrian’s plan and left Earth forever, but not before killing Anaglyph, who refused to keep quiet about Sun Tsu’s conspiracy.
Powers: Total control over sub-atomic particles (focused through his gauntlets), which allows him to fly, fire energy bolts, survive in space, teleport, manipulate matter, and duplicate himself. He is also invulnerable, can read minds, and see into the future and past (but only events that he will be/was a part of). Dr. Jon Grayson was a nuclear physicist before becoming Dr. Marvel.

Spectre of the Jungle:
Amalgamation of: Jann of the Jungle + Silk Spectre II
Real Name: Jane Juspeczyk
Biography: Sally Juspeczky was a jungle explorer who was sexually assaulted by Kenneth Blake, before he became the gorilla-man Monkey Business. Sally raised her daughter Jane in the jungles of South Africa, where she became a powerful warrior and hunter, nicknamed “the Spectre.” She and her mother eventually traveled back to the United States, where Jane received a formal education. As the heroic Spectre of the Jungle, Jane joined the Agents of WATCH, where she started dating Dr. Jon Grayson, aka Dr. Marvel. Jane continued to date Jon after the Agents disbanded, but turned to Manny, the robot Nite-Droid, when he stared becoming more distant from her and humanity. She eventually learned the truth that Ken Blake, her former teammate Monkey Business, was her real father.
Powers: Above-average strength/speed/agility/stamina/senses. Martial arts and tracking skills.

Nite-Droid:
Amalgamation of: M-11 + Nite-Owl II
Alias: Manfred “Manny” Dreiberg
Biography: Nite-Droid was an android created by Prof. Hollis Mason, who was forced to create a robot warrior for Moklaw. The Nite-Droid attacked the Agents on their rescue mission, but betrayed Moklaw when he developed his first human emotion: love for Jane Juspeczky. Nite-Droid and the other Agents defeated Moklaw, rescued the president and Mason, and escaped back to America. Nite-Droid took up the alias “Manfred ‘Manny’ Dreiberg.” Manny started dating Jane when she and Dr. Marvel broke up.
Powers: Machine-level strength and durability. Various weapons and gadgets built into its body, including throwing blades, grappling line, energy shield, lasers, and extendable arms. Trained in martial arts by Spectre of the Jungle.

Anaglyph:
Amalgamation of: 3-D Man + Rorschach
Real Names: Walter Chandler
Biography: Twin brothers Walter and Joseph Chandler were born to an abusive prostitute mother and an unnamed client. Walter was a rebellious child who always looked out for his weaker brother. Joseph grew up to own a clothing store, and he hired his brother, who was kicked out of Major League Football for hospitalizing his own teammate. The brothers soon discovered a strange piece of plastic, which they never realized was alien in origin. Criminals later robbed their store, killing Joseph in the process. Walter decided to dedicate his life to fighting crime, and he used the alien plastic to craft special lenses that allowed him to read minds. Anaglyph, as Walter came to be known, joined the Agents of WATCH to rescue the president from Moklaw. Anaglyph remained active as a vigilante, even after the Agents’ disbandment and the outlawing of costumed heroes. He and his friend Nite-Droid eventually discovered their former teammate Adrian Woo’s plan to attack several cities across the planet. While Nite-Droid, Spectre of the Jungle, and Dr. Marvel decided to remain quiet about this, knowing that exposing the conspiracy would reignite the tensions between two nuclear-armed superpowers, Anaglyph remained steadfast to his convictions; Dr. Marvel was forced to kill Walter, which he gladly accepted. Meanwhile, at the New York newspaper “The New Bugle” (Daily Bugle + New Frontiersman), Seymour Robertson (Joe Robertson + Seymour), the assistant to the editor-in-chief, finds in the paper’s ‘crank file’ Anaglyph’s journal, which contains the evidence of Adrian Woo’s conspiracy.
The outcome is left to your imagination.
Powers: Above-average strength/durability/stamina. Expert fighter. The lenses of his mask allow him to read the minds of others. Uses a grappling hook gun created by Nite-Droid.

Monkey Business:
Amalgamation of: Gorilla-Man + The Comedian
Real Name: Kenneth Blake
Biography: While hunting Nazis in the African jungles during WWII, American soldier Kenneth Blake learned of local legends of a powerful gorilla-man. Kenneth killed the gorilla-man, and the powers of the beast were passed down to him. Becoming a super strong simian with the intelligence of a normal human, Kenneth became “Monkey Business”, a costumed crime fighter in the post-WWII U.S. Blake became more nihilistic as his career progressed, and he started killing criminals more wantonly; while serving in the Vietnam War alongside Dr. Marvel, Blake reveled in the carnage, claiming that humans are no more savage than apes and that a civilized society is nothing more than a dream. Monkey Business later joined the Agents, and when the team disbanded Kenneth was murdered by Adrian Woo, who used an amulet to seal away the gorilla-man’s curse. Kenneth Blake’s murder was an attempt to distract Anaglyph, so that he could buy enough time to set his true plans in motion.
Powers: The body of a gorilla with the intelligence of a normal human; gorilla-level strength/speed/durability/stamina/senses/agility/reflexes. Uses weapons and firearms ergonomically designed to fit the size of his gorilla hands.
