The Stars of Justice (Stars and Stripes + Justice League of Earth), from the year 3099 AD, are a team of Earth-born metahumans that are heroes but also persecute aliens and drive their influence from Earth. Enemies of the Legion of the Galaxy (Guardians of the Galaxy + Legion of Super Heroes).

Left to Right:
Grotesque, Viewership, Flagman, Onigumo, and Moonstorm.

Stars of Justice (Stars and Stripes + Justice League of Earth): A xenophobic group of Earth-born metahumans who seek to eliminate alien presence on Earth under the guise of superheroes. They exist in the year 3099 AD and are enemies of the Legion of the Galaxy (Guardians of the Galaxy + Legion of Super-Heroes).

Flagman:
Amalgamation Of: Jack Flag + Earth-Man
Real Name: Jack Niedrigh
Biography: Jack Niedrigh is a metamutant (mutant + metahuman), a human born with superhuman abilities. With his ability to drain the life force from others and copy their powers, Jack attempted to join the Legion of the Galaxy, but was rejected from them. He later applied for the X-Subs (X-Men 2099/X-Nation + Legion of Substitute Heroes), but was rejected by them, too; the telepaths of both respective teams, Saturna (Gamora + Saturn Girl) and Receptionist (Cerebra + Antennae Lad), detected violent and anti-social tendencies that would make him unsuitable for any team. Jack learned of a villain's return and disguised himself as another villain to aide him. This villain, Kalistaar (Blastaar + Kalibak), one of the sons of Deathseid (Thanos + Darkseid), was almost victorious over the LotG when Jack betrayed him and absorbed the powers of the Legion. Kalistaar struck back and broke Jack's spine, causing him to lose the powers he copied and the use of his legs.
With this crisis over, Jack returned to his home city and founded a citizen's patrol hotline with other metamutants. Later, he discovered by unknown means a tablet that tells that history's greatest superhero, The Super-Soldier (Captain America + Superman), didn't gain his powers through alien genetics and that he defended Earth from aliens. Incensed by his rejection by the LotG (that was mostly aliens) and crippled by Kalistaar (another alien), Jack came to the conclusion that aliens were evil and that Earth must be expunged of their influence. He reorganized his fellow metahumans into a strike team that infiltrated the Knoworld (Knowhere + Legionworld), the HQ of the LotG, and used their medical technology to restore Jack's legs. Under the banner of the United Earth flag, the “Stars of Justice” and their leader Flagman, whom Jack now calls himself, are “heroes” who seek to sow distrust and hatred of aliens among the people of Earth so they are violently captured and deported.
Powers: Constantly draws small amounts of bio-kinetic energy from living beings, fueling his superhuman strength/speed/stamina/reflexes; can drain larger amounts from living creatures and (if they have any) copy their superhuman powers (though for 12 hours at a time).

Grotesque:
Amalgamation Of: Groot + Tusker
Real Name: “Horace”
Biography: Horace, the heir of a Earthen monarchy government, is a metamutant with an extremely dense skeleton and flesh made from a vegetation-like substance. He tried to join the Legion of the Galaxy but was turned down; he tried to prove himself by responding to a jail-break and using his powers over vegetation to create an army to corral the escapees. One of the escaped criminals was a super-genius who hid in the medical wing of the prison and quickly spliced together a breed of super-termites that devoured the tree monsters and nearly killed Horace. The Legion intervened and saved Horace and captured the remaining escapees. While recovering, he started a rapport with LotG member Omnivore (Rocket Raccoon + Matter-Eater Lad), but manipulated the rookie's trust to get access codes to Knoworld. Waiting until the right opportunity to exact vengeance against the Legion, he joined the Stars of Justice to gain the chance, using the codes to access Knoworld's medical bay so leader Flagman can regain his ability to walk. Horace became known as Grotesque.
Powers: Superhuman strength/durability/stamina; accelerated healing; extremely dense skeleton and very sharp tusks he can extend; vegetation-like flesh he can reshape into tools, absorb plant life to feed, manipulate trees into monsters that serve him, and yellowish bulbs on him that secrete a neurotoxin.

Viewership:
Amalgamation Of: Vagabond + Eyeful
Real Name: Ethel Lyons
Biography: Ethel Lyons is the descendant of Priscilla Montoya (“Priscilla Lyons” + Renee Montoya), a 21st century heroine who bore the mantle of The Problem (The Scourge + The Question). As a metamutant with the ability to grow multiple eyes across her body, giving her greater perspective on her surroundings, Ethel was a school teacher who met with a paraplegic Jack Niedrigh in Miami, FL. Despite his disability, Jack helped Ethel save her police officer brother from criminals. To pay back her debt to Jack, she joined his team of metamutants in infiltrating Knoworld. Now with his legs restored, Jack trained Ethel in combat skills and she joined his Stars of Justice team as “Viewership”. She also began dating her teammate Grotesque.
Powers: The ability to grow and retract multiple eyes across her skin, making it difficult to sneak up on her; above-average strength/speed/stamina/reflexes; martial arts skills.

Onigumo:
Amalgamation Of: Free Spirit + Spider Girl
Real Name: Cathy Paka
Biography: Cathy Paka was a human abducted from Earth by alien scientists for a deadly scheme. Brainwashed and mutated to have the ability to manipulate her hair into a deadly weapon, Cathy would have assassinated the royal family of the alien world, under mental influence, the the Earth would have been plunged into an invasion and war they would be caught off guard regarding. The Legion of the Galaxy intercepted this conspiracy and thwarted it, but left the poor Cathy mentally unbalanced and paranoid about extraterrestrial influence on humanity; perfect for Flagman to recruit into his xenophobic fold. As the Onigumo, named for the Japanese spider demon, Cathy helped the Stars of Justice recover lost data on the Young Titans (Young Masters + Terror Titans), a team of young 21st Century villains who, despite their small numbers, managed to defeat the heroic Teen Avengers (Young Avengers + Teen Titans) with 'divide-and-conquer' tactics.
Powers: Enhanced strength/speed/stamina/durability/reflexes/agility; martial arts skills; prehensile hair that she can mentally control and use for multiple purposes, such as extra limbs, shields, and razor-sharp coils.

Moonstorm:
Amalgamation Of: Moonhunter + Storm Boy
Real Name: Zachery Chypurz
Biography: Zach Chypurz was a servant of the alien villain Interstar (Interface + Starfinger), who had implanted cyborg technology in Zach's flesh that gave him the ability to control the weather. The Legion defeated Interstar and freed Zach from the foe's mental domination, but he also became a xenophobic psycho and member of Flagman's Stars of Justice team. As the merciless Moonstorm, Zach pitted his skills as a hunter and his cyborg powers against the LotG from the shadows, and the team had all but one to publicly execute as a warning to ALL aliens on Earth and humans who stand with them!
The only Legionnaire to escape was mutated human Major Kinetic (Major Victory + Kinetix), who was sent by the Legion leaders to find a weapon that could take down the Stars of Justice; she found the shield of the Super-Soldier, but it came with the true weapon they needed: The Truth.
Rebuilding the Knoworld's main processsing unit COPAIT (ISAAC + COMPUTO), the Major reconstituted the body of Super-Soldier himself, the DNA of which were imbedded in chrono-particles bound to the shield. In a younger, but still pretty strong body, Clark Rogers (based on Captain America 2099 + Clark Kent as Superboy) and Major Kinetic stormed the HQ of the SoJ to free the Legion. He also proved to Jack that he was given his powers through the genes of an extinct alien race, but Kirt, faced with the truth and all the horrid things he did in the name of the lie, rejected it and attacked Clark. He absorbed Super-Soldier's abilities, but also his weakness against the radioactive ore Kreetonite, a shard of which Clark plunged into Jack chest to kill him. The Legion of the Galaxy recovered, the Stars of Justice were imprisoned, and Super-Soldier remained with the Legion until their final battle with the evil Annihilation Five (Annihilation Wave + Fatal Five). Meanwhile, it is revealed to us that the creator of the lies about Super-Soldier is the god-like fiend called The Brain-Trapper (Brain-Ship + Time Trapper).
Powers: Weather manipulation; above-average strength/stamina/durability/stamina/reflexes; combat and hunting skills; skilled with weapons such as knives and firearms.

This is quite the team you've made! Although I really liked the old spelling of Grootusk, it was a nice play on words. How did Super-Soldier reborn cope with taking a life?
